Join your friends at the Dallas Peace and Justice Center for our 2nd annual "Take Back Mothers' Day" Celebration on Sunday, May 6th under the gazebo on the beautiful grounds of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Oak Cliff! Silent auction, peace quilt display, entertainment by the DFW Metro Raging Grannies, and more!
"...Arise, all women who have hearts, whether your baptism be that of water or of tears! Say firmly: “We will not have great questions decided by irrelevant agencies, our husbands shall not come to us, reeking with carnage, for caresses and applause...
We, women of one country, will be too tender of those of another country, to allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs. From the bosom of the devastated earth a voice goes up with our own. It says, Disarm, disarm! The sword of murder is not the balance of justice. Blood does not wipe out dishonor, nor violence vindicate possession..."
- from Julia Ward Howe's (1819-1910) original 1870 proclamation for peace.
This celebration is a fundraiser. $100 sponsors will receive a thank you gift of two bottles of Mother’s Time Out wine (or non-alcoholic option, sparkling cider), $50 hosts will receive a one thank you bottle, $25 guests will receive a glass of wine, sparkling cider or beer.
